Wuthering Heights Sex Scene: Mud, Teeth and Stone
The Wuthering Heights Sex Scene does not begin with a welcome. It begins at the threshold, with the latch already lifting before Catherine's knuckles find the wood, because the wind has worried at it all night and the swollen timber no longer sits true. She enters sideways, cheeks pasted with wet hair, cloak sodden and heavy, half the moor clinging to her hem. Heathcliff is already planted in front of the fire, back to the flames, boots set wide, and he makes no move to help her. He simply watches the water run off her onto the flags. Peat smoulders and spits. The dog grumbles once from beneath the table and gives it up. The kitchen fills with the smell of wet wool, iron and smoke. She offers some small, sour complaint about him not coming down to meet her; he returns one smaller and sourer; manners are finished. Three strides carry him across the floor. He seizes the front of her cloak and jerks her in until her boots slide on the wet stone and her palms land flat on his chest. She sinks her teeth into his lower lip hard enough to draw a grunt. He gathers a fistful of hair at her nape and pulls her head back. The kiss stops being a kiss and becomes a fight with tongues in it.
Before a Single Kind Word
Her cloak drops in a heavy wet heap. His waistcoat follows, buttons popping, one of them skittering away under the dresser. She drags his shirt free of his trousers and slides her cold hands up beneath it, flat against his ribs. He hisses through his teeth and shoves her back into the dresser so the crockery jumps and rattles. The edge bites into her spine and she ignores it. Her fingers fumble at his belt; his fumble at the laces at her throat; both of them breathe like they have climbed the hill at a run. Firelight puts a hard orange line along his jaw, his collarbone, the flat of his stomach where the shirt hangs open. She gets the belt loose, gets her hand inside, finds him already hard and hot and twitching. He drops his forehead against hers and swears into her mouth when her grip closes.
Wuthering Heights Sex Scene: Bent Over the Dresser
He spins her round and folds her over the dresser, one hand spread between her shoulder blades, the other hauling her skirts up over her hips, past the mud-caked hem, up the backs of her thighs. The cold air reaches her bare arse and she shivers and pushes back into it regardless. His fingers come up between her legs from behind; she is already slick and open; he grunts as though he has won something and works two of them into her slowly, deeply, while she claws the wood and rocks onto them. Rain beats the window. The fire pops. He takes his hand away, spits on his palm, and she hears the wet sound as he slicks himself. Then the blunt press at her entrance, the stretch, the long grinding inch of him until his hips are flat against her and his belt buckle lies cold on her thigh. She makes a noise she would be embarrassed by in daylight. He gives her a moment, breathing hard through his nose, and then he moves, and it is not tender: a hard, steady driving rhythm that knocks the breath out of her in time with the dresser striking the wall.
Wuthering Heights Sex Scene: Hard Rhythm, No Tenderness
He leans over her, chest against her back, mouth at her ear, talking in that low rasp while he fucks her, half insults and half her name. She gets a hand beneath herself and works at her own cunt in time with him, because she will not be the one who breaks first. He shifts his feet wider and the angle changes, suddenly too good, that deep dragging stroke landing right, and her legs begin to shake and her knees half give. He catches her weight with an arm across her hips and keeps going, harder, until she clenches around him and comes with a long ragged groan, forehead on the dresser top, teeth in her own wrist. He lasts four more strokes, then pulls out and spills across the back of her thigh with a sound like he has been punched, one hand braced on the wall.
Wrecked on the Flags, Not in a Bed
Afterwards neither of them manages anything decent. He tucks himself away, drags the back of his wrist over his mouth, and drops heavily onto the settle with his shirt still open, glaring at the fire as if it has insulted him personally. Catherine pushes her skirts down, wipes her thigh with the flat of her hand, and stands there with her hair wrecked and her shift stuck to her back. Then she laughs, one short ugly bark, and he looks up and his mouth twitches in spite of him. She picks up her cloak and shakes the wet out of it across the floor on purpose, so that he has to lift his boots, and he calls her a mucky article, and she tells him he is no better, and the row starts up again, quiet and easy, where the other one left off. Outside, the wind keeps at the latch. Neither of them gets up to fix it.
How the Scene Is Staged
The whole thing runs roughly ten minutes of story time, from the door to the settle, with no cutaways. It happens in the kitchen, against the dresser and the hearth, standing up, fully clothed until it is not. It is open-door: hands, mouths and penetration described plainly, with no fade to black. The mud, the wet wool and the freezing flags do half the work, and the finish leaves both of them wrecked on the floor rather than in any bed.
